TBT Report

Surjotorun Club scored an emphatic 64-run victory against Khelaghar SKS in Ispahani Tea Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
Asked to bat first, Surjotorun accumulated 211 for eight in its stipulated 50 overs with national ace opening batsman Junaid Siddique hitting the topscore with a splendid 57.
In reply, Khelaghar was all out for 147 in 45.5 overs against a disciplined Surjotorun bowling, led by Monjurul Islam who captured four scalps.
Junaid played 91 balls to steady the Surjotorun innings and hit four shots through the ropes to produce the innings best score. His opening partner Imtiaz Hossain chipped in the winners' innings scoring 32 off 46 balls.
Monirul Islam and Monwar Hossain both took three wickets each conceding 32 and 50 runs respectively.
Khelaghar batsmen never looked threatening during their chase. Middle order batsman Ashraf Ali and Shafiul Alam were the only batsmen in the side to stand strong for a while against Surjotorun bowlers.
Ashraf scored 43, while Shafiul added 31 but their efforts were not enough to take the team to victory. Though Jakir Hossain raised hopes for a while in the end overs, scoring 27 runs from 38 balls, Khelaghar innings folded for 147 to hand a morale-boosting victory to the opponents.
Monjurul Islam gave away 20 runs to snap up four Khelaghar wickets in nine overs
